Kapellenberg

Enjoy a blissful night's sleep here before departing for a ramble along the "Kapellenberg" hillside vineyard located in a picturesque side valley above Odernheim. The vineyard is formed around the ruins of a filial chapel of Cloister Disibodenberg and hugs the wavelike contours of the mountain from the southwest to southeast. Scattered knolls create diverse microclimates along the way. High above the fog line, this vineyard is perfect for Frühburgunder (Pinot noir précoce) vines that, alongside Gewürztraminer, thrive here. The terroir, weathered slate over melaphyre, defines the wines of the Kapellenberg with an uncompromising and concentrated minerality. Weingut Klostermühle Odernheim controls almost the entire vineyard.
