MYTHOS MONTFORT

The "Monfort Suite" is our largest suite, including a living room with exclusive 18th century furniture, desks and chairs and a comfortable sitting area including a couch that converts into an extra full-sized bed. The largest bathroom in the house, with a double-sized tub and plenty of natural light, is another hallmark of this room. Enjoy the wonderful view from the windows over the roofs of the old city and out into the hillside vineyards. But don't forget to pay a visit to the hillside vineyard for which this room was named! Weingut Klostermühle Odernheim is the sole owner of this 5 hectare site which stands for the potential and quality of Nahe-based Pinot wines. The "Montfort" name refers to the noble house of the Boos von Waldeck and Montfort family; the path from Odernheim through the hillside vineyard led to their castle. The south facing Montfort site is among the world's steepest hillside vineyards. The natural conditions — including slate over volcanic stones and a unique microclimate — set the perfect stage for exceptional Pinot wines including not only Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder), but also Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder) and Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder) as well. Gifted wine maker Thomas Zenz works the vineyards today, helping them reach their best and fullest potential.
