"Im Kino" - IN THE CINEMA

Lights, Camera, Action

During the 19th century, Meisenheim was finally in a position to grow beyond the walls of the city. Our hotel served at that time as an inn and brewery. Around 1860, its owner also used the opportunity to add an attractive celebration hall outside the city walls. You will sleep here in the former stage area, gazing out on the neo-classical enclosing walls. Starting in the 1930s, the building known as the "Schwinnscher Saal" in honor of its then-owner also served as Meisenheim's cinema. Classical concerts, burlesque balls, gymnastics exhibitions and theater pieces have all graced this stage. The cinema was a place for Meisenheimers to dream. Glamour and adventure — perhaps you too will dream of Winnetou, Audrey Hepburn or your own name in lights...
